Best Family Photos for the best price

I know parents are wondering… What type of session do I book? What if my kids don’t cooperate? What will my session end up like after paying good money?

Saskatoon Family Photographer

I don't expect children to stand perfectly still, smile on command, or behave like tiny adults for an hour. They're children. They're curious. They're energetic. They're silly. And honestly, those are the qualities that make the very best family photographs.

The Magic Happens Between the Poses

Some of my favourite images aren't the ones where everyone is looking at the camera. They're the giggles after a game of tag. The tiny hand reaching up for Mom's. The little one who stops to collect rocks or dandelions. The sibling who wraps their arms around their brother simply because they feel like it.

Those aren't interruptions to the session.

They are the session.

Play Creates Real Smiles

Children connect through play—not through being told to smile.

That's why you'll rarely hear me say, "Say cheese!"

Instead, we might race across a field, spin in circles, play peek-a-boo, tell silly jokes, hunt for sticks, collect leaves, or have a family tickle fight.

Sometimes we'll look for bugs.

Sometimes we'll skip rocks.

Sometimes we'll simply wander together.

When children are having fun, they forget they're having their picture taken. That's when the genuine smiles appear, and those authentic moments become the photographs you'll treasure years from now.

Your Child Doesn't Need to Be "Perfect"

If your toddler has a meltdown...

If your preschooler refuses to wear shoes...

If your five-year-old wants to show me every stick they've found...

Please don't worry.

Those moments don't frustrate me—they're simply part of childhood.

As a photographer, I've learned that flexibility is far more important than perfection. Sometimes the best thing we can do is slow down, take a little break, offer a snack, or let a child cuddle with Mom for a few minutes.

There is no rush.

Children feel our energy. When parents relax, children usually do too.

The images families love the most are often the ones nobody expected.

A child running full speed into Dad's arms.

A muddy pair of little feet.

A spontaneous hug.

Wind blowing through messy hair.

A burst of laughter that nobody saw coming.

These aren't mistakes.

They're memories.

Years from now, your children won't remember whether their shirt stayed tucked in or whether they smiled perfectly every time.

They'll remember how it felt to play with you.

Childhood is wonderfully messy.

It's scraped knees, dirty hands, grass stains, missing front teeth, endless questions, and boundless imagination.

It's twirling until you're dizzy.

It's climbing logs.

It's chasing butterflies.

It's stopping to admire every flower along the path.

Those little moments are the story of your family right now.

And that's the story I want to capture.

My Promise to Every Family

When you book a family photography session in Saskatoon with me, my goal isn't to create perfect children.

My goal is to preserve your perfectly imperfect family.

I'll gently guide you when needed, but I'll also leave room for the unexpected. We'll laugh, explore, play games, and let your children be exactly who they are.

Because one day, those busy little feet will slow down.

The hands that always reached for yours will grow bigger.

The giggles will sound different.

And the photographs won't remind you of how well your children behaved.

They'll remind you of who they were.

And that's a gift worth holding onto.

If you've been putting off family photos because you're worried your children are "too busy," I'd love to reassure you—they're not.

They're simply being kids.

And that's exactly what makes them so wonderful to photograph.

My full sessions are made for when you know you need more time, you know that things are unexpected and you need to slow things down, when you might want more then one location, or movement within an area, when the kids need snacks or rest, or if you want the grandparents involved as well.

Full sessions are reasonably priced and provide you with all the posed and in-between shots.

A mini session is only offered at particular times of year, or occasion. These sessions will save you money (as compared to a full session), they are 15 min in length, are best if you only want a handful of updated shots of the fam and are on a time crunch. The session can be unpredictable based on the short time frame, however if you are open minded I guarantee our short time together will work out.

I will advise you if I believe one type of session over the other might suit your needs better.
